PHYSICIAN-PRESCRIBED, NON-SURGICAL.

Upneeq® Eyelid Treatment

If your upper eyelids sit lower than they used to, making you look tired even when you're not — there's a name for that, and there's a treatment. Upneeq® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription eye drop for acquired ptosis.

Get physician-prescribed, non-surgical eyelid lift treatment for acquired eyelid ptosis at MedLuxe Wellness. Medical aesthetic care and treatment plans, just off Jarrettsville Pike.

At MedLuxe Wellness in Phoenix, Maryland, Upneeq® eye drops are prescribed to qualifying patients following evaluation by Cara Bowman, a nurse injector with more than 14 years of experience in medical aesthetics and advanced certifications in aesthetic procedures, and physician oversight from Dr. Joe Krecz.

What is Upneeq®?

Upneeq® (oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.1%) is a prescription eye drop that temporarily lifts low-lying upper eyelids. It works by stimulating Müller's muscle — a small, involuntary muscle inside the upper eyelid — causing it to contract and pull the lid upward.

Upneeq® eye drops treat acquired ptosis — drooping that develops over time from aging, muscle weakening, or as a side effect of neurotoxin treatment. It does not treat congenital ptosis or drooping caused by neurological conditions. Because it's a prescription medication, it starts with a provider evaluation.

Why Choose Upneeq® for Drooping Eyelid Treatment?

For patients who want a real solution without surgery, recovery time, or waiting weeks for Botox-induced drooping to resolve on its own, Upneeq offers something the other options don't: a physician-prescribed treatment that works the same day.

Upneeq may be a great treatment option for you if you want to

  • Look more awake and alert without surgery or downtime

  • Restore a more open, rested appearance to your upper eyelids

  • Address ptosis caused by Botox or Dysport while the neurotoxin clears

  • Explore a non-surgical treatment option before committing to surgery

  • Get a prescription and a plan guided by a real provider

What Can Upneeq® Treat?

Upneeq® treats acquired blepharoptosis eyelid drooping that develops over time. Upneeq does not treat severe ptosis or ptosis from neurological causes. If you're unsure whether what you're experiencing qualifies, that's exactly what a consultation with Cara is for.

Whatever the cause, the goal is the same: eyes that look more alert, open, and like you.

  • Age-Related Upper Eyelid Drooping

The most common cause of acquired ptosis is aging. The muscle that lifts your upper eyelid gradually stretches or weakens — and the lid settles lower than it used to. It's slow enough that many patients don't realize it's happened until a photo shows them.

Upneeq stimulates Müller's muscle to compensate — temporarily restoring the lid to a more open, rested position. You look more awake. More like yourself. At MedLuxe, we confirm the cause before prescribing, so the treatment fits the actual problem.

  • Ptosis Eyelid From Botox® or Dysport®

Eyelid ptosis is a recognized side effect of neurotoxin treatment when the product migrates toward the muscles that lift the upper lid. It resolves on its own as the neurotoxin clears — but that can take weeks, and you shouldn't have to spend that time looking and feeling off.

Upneeq can lift the affected eyelid in the meantime, restoring a more balanced, open appearance while the neurotoxin works through your system. Because MedLuxe offers both neurotoxin treatments and Upneeq, we can address the current concern and adjust your future injection plan in the same conversation.

  • Low-Lying Lids That Make You Look Tired

Not every case is a dramatic droop. Some patients simply have lids that rest lower than they'd like — creating a heavy, tired look that doesn't match how they feel. If you consistently look exhausted in photos, or notice your eyes appear smaller than they once did, that's not just cosmetic frustration. It's worth addressing.

A consultation can confirm whether Upneeq is the right fit — and if it is, you have a real, physician-prescribed option that doesn't involve surgery or significant recovery time.

Upneeq® Eye Lift Treatment Plans at MedLuxe Wellness

At MedLuxe, eyelid drooping gets assessed the way it should: for cause, not just appearance. Cara leads every aesthetic evaluation, and Dr. Joe's physician oversight ensures that anything beyond the cosmetic gets the right attention. If Upneeq is right for you, you'll know why. If it isn't, you'll know that too.

Physician-Led Care You Can Trust

When Upneeq is prescribed through a physician-supervised practice, you get more than a drop. You get a real evaluation — one that identifies the underlying cause, sets accurate expectations, and makes sure the drooping you're seeing isn't signaling something that needs different attention.

Integrated Aesthetic & Wellness Care

Upneeq often comes up in the context of other care at MedLuxe — as a complement to neurotoxin treatments, as part of an overall facial refresh, or alongside BHRT for patients whose hormonal shifts are affecting how they look and feel.

Individualized Treatment Planning

If Upneeq is the right treatment option for you, we'll tell you. If it's not, or if another aesthetic treatment or surgical option would give you a better result, we'll tell you that too. The goal isn't to prescribe something. It's to give you a path that works.

How to Get Upneeq® at MedLuxe Wellness

1. Consultation & Evaluation

Cara reviews your eyelid presentation, medical history, and current medications to confirm Upneeq is appropriate — and to rule out any underlying cause that would need a different response. Dr. Joe provides physician oversight throughout.

2. Prescription & Instructions

If you're a good candidate, we write the prescription and walk you through exactly how to use it — application technique, contact lens timing, what to do if you're using other eye drops, and what to watch for in the first few days.

3. Results

Most patients notice their lids lifting within 5 to 15 minutes of the first dose — eyes that look more open and alert without surgery or recovery. Peak effect is around the two-hour mark, with results lasting six to eight hours. The effect is temporary by design; daily use maintains it. Individual results vary.

4. Follow-Up

We check in to make sure you're responding as expected. If anything changes — your goals, your medications, your results — we adjust the plan.

Upneeq® FAQ’s

Questions that our patients had before trying Upneeq:

  • Upneeq's active ingredient, oxymetazoline hydrochloride, stimulates Müller's muscle — a small, involuntary upper eyelid muscle — causing it to contract and lift the eyelid. One drop, once daily, is all it takes to produce a visible change in eyelid position.

  • Most patients notice a visible lift within 5 to 15 minutes of the first dose. Peak effect is around two hours. Some patients see a more gradual response over their first few uses — both are normal.

  • A single dose lasts approximately six to eight hours. Upneeq manages ptosis daily rather than correcting it permanently — consistent daily use means consistent improvement.

  • Yes, but you must remove your contacts before applying Upneeq, then reinsert them no less than 15 minutes later. If you use other eye drops, wait at least 15 minutes between each one.

  • Yes — Upneeq is a prescription medication. It can't be purchased over the counter. At MedLuxe, the prescription starts with an evaluation at our clinic just off Jarrettsville Pike.
